Elisabetta Zoni – Translator

I have over 25 years' experience working as a freelance literary translator and editor. I hold a PhD in Translation Studies and specialize in non-fiction in the humanities (art, music, history and essays in general), but I have also translated fiction and poetry.

My clients include publishing houses, cultural institutions such as foundations, museums, and universities, as well as authors.

I translate from English and German into Italian and from Italian and German into English.

My working method can be summarized by a few key principles:

I take good care of the author's words and will follow up until the text is print-ready.

I am open about any work issues or translation problems that arise, and I inform the author/client immediately.

I always seek direct contact with authors, as I find discussing my translation work with them incredibly enriching.

*Cooperation*

I am open to suggestions and will follow guidelines wherever possible.

*Flexibility*

I am flexible about schedules and can accommodate rescheduling, as well as last-minute or additional requests where possible.

*Teamwork*

I enjoy working in a team and have previously coordinated small groups of translators on larger projects.
