Overview

I've been in book publishing for several years, so I enjoy the details of editing as well as the dedication it takes to listen to an author and bring out the best in a writing. From New York to Los Angeles to Hong Kong and now Singapore, I've worked on diverse teams and always love the challenge of new environments. I'm Chinese but was raised in New Zealand and California in a family of refugees from Vietnam, making me a suitable editor for today's global readers.

To me, the key to editing is listening. I always want to have a conversation with an author first to find out what the person's goals and challenges are—that way we can map out a path together. Transparency is also important, as is a continual dialogue, and these are the reasons I like to give the writer sample edits so we can adjust as we go. No edit is too big to handle if we take one step at a time together.
