Let me help you achieve your creative vision for your book! I am skilled in all stages of the editing process, from critique and assessment to developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. I've been an editor of children’s books and adult nonfiction books at a traditional press for eight years, plus many prior years of experience in freelance publishing. My education includes a doctorate in linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MFA in creative writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

My approach is collaborative, highlighting your unique voice. First I'll use comment bubbles to identify plot problems, weak characterization, uneven voice, POV inconsistencies, and more. Then I'll use track changes to edit your prose for smoothness, clarity, conciseness, and accuracy.

I love working on children’s books (board books and picture books, both rhyming and non-rhyming), middle grade and YA fiction, and adult fiction (especially fantasy fiction). I also enjoy developing children’s nonfiction or adult nonfiction in the gift book or craft book space (for example, recipe books, art projects, etc.).
