Overview
I have worked in trade publishing for more than a decade, at a Big Five house and at small, independent presses. My work focuses mainly on prescriptive nonfiction (including cooking, health, pregnancy, parenting, relationships, and business/self-help). I love to help people with great ideas sharpen and share those concepts with a wider audience. As an editor, I view my role as being your book doula: it is not my baby, but I will coach and guide you through the process and will be just as proud as you when it makes its way into the world.
I will work with you to ensure that the overall structure and flow of your book works and is in line with your vision. I will also take a sharp eye to a manuscript at the line level to improve the voice, wording, and tone. (I firmly believe that even when you're sharing recipes or how-to, voice matters!)
Books I've edited are consistently well reviewed by major publications. While a lot of that is because I've been privileged to work with talented writers, our partnership on their projects helps take manuscripts to the next level. I was touched and proud when an author emailed me a link to her starred Booklist review, saying, "The things the writer highlighted all have your fingerprints on them!"
I hold an MA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and a BA in French from Penn State. I am a double Taurus (ascendant Gemini) and an INFJ. I'm also a mom, a dancer, and a sourdough baker.
