Christy Tortland

Christy Tortland – Ghostwriter

Ghostwriter and author with several years' experience in children's books of all ages. Special expertise in author branding.

Overview

Hi, I'm Christy!

I'm an experienced author and ghostwriter of several published books for children, young adults, and adults. These include The Leprechaun's Rainbow, Barks and Beeps, Heavy-Machine Operators on the Job (EXPLORING TRADE JOBS). I've also ghostwritten multiple books, including: THE OREGEON TRAIL: TRAILBLAZER SERIES (THE OREGON TRAIL), REUSE THIS BOOK!, SANTA'S COOKIE, and several others while working with HarperCollins Clarion imprint as both an editorial intern and freelance author/editor.

But editing is just part of the process -- I can also help you in regards to author branding. Building an authentic author brand is key in this day an age, especially with the necessity to have yourself branded online to help market yourself. With my experience in working at HarperCollins Clarion imprint, I've had the unique experience of getting to see and work behind the scenes on many major licensed properties, including: CURIOUS GEORGE, THE LITTLE PRINCE, CARMEN SANDIEGO, and many others. I was also part of a special IP team developed at HarperCollins (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, at the time), to create IP content that would span into multimedia: from book to TV to movie to graphic novel, etc., focusing especially on branding content.

Storytelling is an art passed down from generation to generation. I love being a part of this generation's storytellers, and love to help others on their path, no matter where they are in the process. Having been through it all multiple times myself as both an author and editorial consultant, each story is a new beginning with a new journey, and I would love to be alongside you in your journey as a mentor, helper, and soundboard in whatever stages of the process you are in. I would love to work with you!
