I'm an independent artist/author/publisher providing creative book design, illustration, technical services, project management, promotional graphics, and other self-publishing services for authors of children's picture books.
I specialize in start-to-finish creative design and technical pre-press using Adobe InDesign for building files that conform to guidelines of the Amazon/KDP platform. I produce high quality, demand-print paperback books as well as ebooks for Kindle Fire tablets and a plethora of other devices.
My background includes authoring and visual development of two dozen books over the past four years. I published an artist's book, River Journal Workshop, which earned Amazon #1 bestseller rank in the Independent Artist category.
Start-to-finish studio processes include management of all aspects of the production cycle and delivery schedule from initial story sketch to final proofing to version control archiving. I produced “best practice” print ready file sets conforming to standards and guidelines of the Amazon KDP demand printing platform. I produced ebook content files complying with Amazon digital download publishing platform.
I have experience in expanding visibility of published works through social media marketing. I have designed book trailer videos for YouTube channel. I've developed special offer landing pages through Mailchimp.
Created branded layouts, promotional animations, and menu-driven resort information schemes per
systems/software engineering specifications and casino operator requirements. Produced custom
content kits for electronic display in slot machines and adopted animations to a variety of marketing
activities such as large screen video, customer presentations, and trade-show exhibits such as the
Global Gaming Expo (25,000 attendees) where the company showcased systems/software products
with animated displays.
Provided art direction and managed the design process for Aristocrat’s America’s Technical Publications
department. Coordinated strategic input and feedback from in-house customers including business
analysts, technical writers, engineering, training, marketing, and the VP of Systems Sales. Incorporated
requirements from all groups to design a suite of technical documents such as software user manuals
and system installation guides. The new easy-to-use format was applied to a portfolio of more than
thirty systems/software products.
Managed a six member team of artists including a sound engineer. Organized assignments and project schedules, tracked progress, evaluated performance, and updated senior staff. Contributed original designs for bonus game themes, player messaging, and bonusing game-play features. Collaborated with engineers to specify compatible video, sound, and animation formats related to software development of bonusing systems. Produced technical sketches for parts manufacturing and coordinated vendor manufacturing. Trained 3rd party agencies on the use of Acres proprietary animation server.
