Overview
As a literary agent, I’ve worked with clients to put forward their best work, from conceptualization to sale. Whether you’re sprucing up your query package or stuck on your full manuscript draft or looking for someone to coach you through finally finishing your novel, I’m here to help you get your work in the best shape possible.
I specialize in kidlit (particularly picture books to YA) and in adult fantasy. Regardless of your genre or age category, my guidance is rooted in getting writers closest to the story they want to write and the goals they want to reach. If you’re aiming for traditional publication, I’m happy to share feedback about what will better move the needle in that direction, and if you’re eyeing self-publication, I can help you get to a finished product that is as polished as its traditional counterparts. Regardless of your goals, my aim is to help you deliver a standout project that meets your vision.
I believe editing is overall a collaborative venture, and I deliver notes with the intention of motivating and inspiring authors to implement solutions they feel passionate about. I keep feedback friendly and encouraging but I am very thorough and do not let even small things slide. I like to ask questions and offer suggestions, but with the intention of getting your creative juices flowing so you can dig deeper into your work and push it to the next level. While I bring my knowledge and experience, I’m not interested in dictating how anyone’s book should be, only helping them get it to where they want it to be.
If you’re looking to level up your work, whether it’s to introduce yourself and your project to the query trenches or directly to the market, I can help! I’m also happy to exactly what you’re looking for from an editor so we can agree on a clear directive before booking.
Please note, however, that if you’re interested in querying me, it’s better not to hire me here.
