Overview
I have a BA in English, and I've been a freelance editor since 2016. In 2015, I completed Humber College's Book Publishing program, and interned at Simon & Schuster Canada before becoming a freelancer. I have an in-depth understanding of North American book publishing and its markets, and each editing decision I make is based on your intentions for your project. Clarity of purpose is the most important element of my editing whether for fiction or non-fiction.
Testimonials:
Ceileigh’s developmental edit of my non-fiction manuscript was invaluable for making what was a complex theoretical argument flow well and be appropriate for wide variety of readers. She made sure the main thread of my argument was clear and consistent throughout my book. She also provided insightful and often alternative points of view for me to consider which not enriched my argument, but also made it more engaging and relevant. For being able to see the big picture of my book and helping me to execute that vision, I highly recommend Ceileigh’s editorial services.
-Dr. Mark Hawkins, counsellor and teacher
Ceileigh has been so helpful to me, both in her review comments and her ability to brainstorm with me on character development, structure, plot, and pacing. Her approach to working with me is highly collaborative. She applies her deep knowledge of fiction writing to my manuscript, offering specific insights that have inspired me in the revision process.
-Jeff Lefkoff, writer
Ceileigh was an editorial assistant at Simon & Schuster when my bestselling novel Still Mine was published. She was part of an excellent and extremely skilled team who brought the book to life and helped it spend six months on the bestseller list. Ceileigh demonstrated a very sharp eye in her editorial contributions. It was wonderful to work with her!
-Amy Stuart, author, Still Mine, Still Water, and Still Here
Ceileigh’s edits were incredibly helpful for the novel I’m working on. Her knowledge of technical aspects, attention to detail, and spatial awareness in scenes was the feedback I needed to improve my draft. Her fresh perspective and insightful edits fleshed out my writing, and gave me more confidence in the overall story. Thank you so much!
