Overview
I’ve ghostwritten books endorsed by Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, Coach Mike Ditka, Gary Chapman, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, Ndaba Mandela (Nelson Mandela’s grandson), Ela Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter), Nido Qubein, Dame Neslyn Watson-Druee, actress Jennifer Gimenez, and more.
While I’ve always been a writer, I made that role a bigger part of my career in 2008 when I left my position as executive chief-of-staff of a multi-billion-dollar healthcare company to consult and speak full-time. I authored my first book. A second and third soon followed.
My editor said I was the best writer she'd ever worked with. She was expensive, so I married her, which didn't necessarily save me money, but...
Other authors asked me to provide content for their books, so I began coaching them and ghostwriting portions of their manuscripts. That got the attention of McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons, and Business Expert Press, who asked me to write for them.
Today, I ghostwrite stories that “stick” based on my combined experiences as an award-winning crisis counselor and executive leader. When I ran a residential group home for at-risk youth, I used stories to teach kids. As an executive, I used stories to educate 13,000 employees.
I ask extensive questions to get inside my authors’ heads so I can extract their stories and ideas and write in their unique voices. While I work in multiple genres, I’m passionate about books that make a difference, in business or in life. Often, these books show triumph amidst pain. I’ve crafted award-winning memoirs and bestselling books on addiction/recovery, trauma, psychology, leadership, history, and business.
I write content that can elicit tears one minute and laughter the next. When an author needs a safe place to share a tragic event, I offer compassion, catharsis, and healing. My interviews often even serve as a kind of therapy for my clients.
Testimonials:
"Scott asked questions I hadn't even considered. The book blew me away. It was my story, in my voice, but it was even better. If you want your story told right, by someone who cares enough to bring out the best, hire Scott." —Randy Grimes, former NFL player, author of Off Center
“Scott made it a page-turner that readers don't want to put down. I can't tell you how many people have told me it changed their lives. It's opened doors to speak and help people around the country. I can't recommend Scott enough." —Tim Ryan, TV star of A&E's Dope Man, author of From Dope to Hope
“I have the opposite of ‘buyer's remorse.’ I don't know what we would have done had we not found you. I couldn't be happier with our decision to have you write this book.” —a recent corporate client, after they’d worked with another ghostwriter for six months without producing a working manuscript
NOTE: I don't overbook, believing each client deserves to be my top priority. When you have me, I’m all yours. As a recent client told me, "You were worth the wait!"
