Overview

I'm an experienced editor of short stories, both in the final and developmental stages. Recent clients have gone on to receive fellowships from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, the Center for Fiction, Tin House, Yaddo, the Slice Literary Writer’s Conference, and the Black Mountain Institute, and to publish with major presses such as Penguin and Knopf.

Stories I've edited have been selected for Best American Short Stories 2017, Best American Nonrequired Reading 2018, and PEN America Best Debut Short Stories 2018, among others, and have received honorable mentions in Best American Short Stories 2017 and Best American Short Stories 2018.

I hold a BA in Literature from Bennington College, an MFA in Literary Translation from the University of Iowa, and an MFA in Fiction from New York University, where I was the Fiction Editor of the award-winning journal Washington Square Review and taught creative writing.
