Brian Chartier

Brian Chartier – Designer

Dedicated to the craft of book design, with over 12 years of experience in publishing.

Overview

I am a professional book designer with over 12 years of experience in designing covers. My work has been featured in Spine magazine and received accolades from the Association of University Presses and the Society of Typographic Arts.

As a senior designer for a university press, I have had the opportunity to design covers for various genres. Getting to work on such a wide range has improved my ability to envision future titles and better understand their target audience.

Illustration and typography form the basis of my work. I aim to inject a personal element into my designs by integrating hand-drawn illustrations and typography. With these elements, I aim to create something that mirrors the author's enthusiasm for their work.

Books have been my passion and profession for over a decade, and I eagerly anticipate each new project. Although I have mainly concentrated on nonfiction, I am interested in branching out and working on more fiction.
