Bernard Lee – Designer

I am a professional Illustrator with several years of experience working in the publishing and editorial industries. Prior to shifting over full-time to illustration, I worked as an Art Director at Scientific American Magazine for 5 years. Because of these two experiences, the service that I provide is not simply that of an Illustrator but also of a Designer who has intimate knowledge of the ins and outs of the publishing industry. Having been involved in countless cover pitch meetings for major publishers, I have a thorough understanding of what types of images sell and how to manage creative projects.

Professionalism, quality and client satisfaction are my biggest priorities. In my experience, working in true collaboration with an Author or Art Director has always resulted in a better end product by sifting through the more obvious solutions to produce something unexpected and fresh so I would love to do the same with you!
