I enjoy working with the author to bring their story to life.
We discuss together what would best illustrate the story. I present each step of the project to the author for approval before moving on to the next. I am willing to make the requested changes while giving artistic guidance. The steps include - character design, sketches showing the plan for each illustration, finished drawings, and final colored illustrations.
I also have experience as a graphic designer so I can design the cover, including hand drawn text, and prepare the pdf file for the printer. I have illustrated many picture books as well as short stories and activities for children. I require a minimum of four months to illustrate a 32 page picture book.
