Bastien Boulai – Designer

I have been an illustrator and concept artist for board games, card games and book covers since 2022. I mainly do commissions for book covers, but I am also open to any other format, and much bigger projects.

The goal of an illustration is to draw the potential viewer in. A truly successful image will make the viewer think, "This is truly amazing. I NEED to know what's going on and dive into this world."

I want to create a quality illustration for you, and also an image that you can be proud of and show to everyone.

Who am I?

I've always been a big fan of science fiction and heroic fantasy. I grew up reading a lot of novels, taking on the roles of heroes and villains with my brother and sister.

I started digital painting in 2020, after attending an event in Paris, the Iamag, where I met Bastien Grivet and Feng Zhu, two brilliant concept artists who passed on their passion to me.

What I like most about illustration is creating a feeling, a moment in history that triggers an emotion. I like to represent an epic dimension in my scenes, but sometimes, our heroes don't just fight, so my characters sit by the fire, and tell their own story...
