Anne Cole Norman

Anne Cole Norman – Editor

NY publishing veteran, kind and supportive editor. My goal is to help make your book project commercially viable.

Overview

I am an independent editor of general nonfiction with a focus on memoir, narrative, health, spirituality, inspiration, how-to, and lifestyle. Before going independent, I was an editor for twelve years at top publishing houses including HarperCollins, Hyperion, and Doubleday. With a keen eye and a love of the written word, my aim is to help you establish your voice and make your writing sing.

My passion is working on projects that inform, enlighten, and entertain in an accessible and engaging way. I have worked with individuals such as New York Times bestselling author Sophie Uliano (author of Gorgeously Green), TV personality Les Stroud (the Discovery Channel’s “Survivorman”) and Nicolette Hahn Niman (author of Righteous Porkchop), named a Barnes & Noble Great New Writer.

A publishing expert, I help authors navigate the industry at the outset of their journey. In my time as an in-house editor, I took part in thousands of editorial, marketing, and sales discussions, and am well-equipped to help authors not only tell their stories, but make their projects marketable.

I absolutely loved working with Anne! She understood my story, and what I wanted to say, and handled every edit with empathy and care. She stayed true to my voice, and more importantly, structured my book in a way that made sense. I hired her for developmental editing and she delivered that and then some. It was an absolute pleasure.
