With 20+ years in book design for top publishers like Thames & Hudson, I've crafted bestsellers in art, photography, cooking, and lifestyle. I worked with icons like Germaine Greer on "The Boy" and created hits like "Modernists & Mavericks." Recent projects include Barbara Hepworth: Art & Life, "Living Wild," and "The Iconic American House."
My approach is all about understanding your vision. I work closely with clients to really grasp their briefs, ensuring we start with high-quality material. I then bring this vision to life with fresh, contemporary layouts for both picture and text-led books. Each project is a unique opportunity to craft custom books and covers that meet top publisher standards, a testament to your unique voice. Using my typography and image editing skills, I start with sample pages and, once approved, complete the book. With my extensive experience in proofreading and file prep, I ensure the final files are perfect for print and ebooks.
While living in Singapore for a few years, I freelanced for publishers in Asia and the US. It was a crash course in understanding different markets and mastering remote teamwork. I learned firsthand the importance of clear communication and tailoring designs to meet client needs. Communication and market savvy are vital ingredients for creating killer books and covers.
