Overview

I am a content editor (developmental and editorial assessments) with four years of experience working in the traditional and indie publishing industries.

The bulk of my editing experience has been with Pleiades, a literary journal of creative fiction, poetry and nonfiction. While editing with Pleiades, I championed a piece of fiction titled "The Imagination Resettlement Program" which went on to win the 2019 Pushcart Prize. I am currently a Senior Editor and Writer at Status Quill, where I perform developmental edits, editorial assessments and query reviews.

I earned my B.A. in creative writing at the University of Central Missouri. I also earned my minor in communication. Rather than reinventing the work I've been given, I prefer to remaster. I seek to enhance, to make crisp and clean the substance in front of me. I am always excited to work with authors who play with high concepts, world-building and character growth in new and inspiring ways. My comments tend to lean into the reasoning behind an edit, as well as the suggestion itself.

I tend to be easy-going, thorough and specific.
