After working for some years in publishing at Walker Books, I am now a full-time author of books for children from bestselling picture books such as Burger Boy, Dear Tooth Fairy and Always and Forever to top-end teenage thrillers (Blood, Flesh and Bones). I offer editorial feedback and advice on manuscripts informed by my knowledge, experience and expertise of the children's publishing world as a widely published author and publishing creative. I have written in many different genres - comedy, horror, fantasy, sport, thrillers, school stories, adventure, historical, picture books - and a wide variety of subjects from fairies to football, gameboys to grief.
I also run courses on writing for children in France and Brighton, and for The Guardian and Penguin Random House Children's Books.
I do extensive work in primary and secondary schools, running creative writing workshops with the children, as well as giving interactive talks and presentations.
I also run writing masterclasses through The Guardian and through Penguin Random House.
I run writing workshops at my home in Brighton, and also writing retreats at my property in rural France.
