Adela Calistru – Designer

I’m a freelance illustrator for children’s books since 2011. I love my job! I love painting in watercolor, so I made a career of it. My illustrations are colorful, joyful and rich in details. Actually, I think paying attention to details is my strong point. It’s very important for me to follow the text exactly and I think the illustration should reflect that. I have a clean, classic style and I try to perfect my technique with every new project.

I implicate myself in the whole process of creating a new book: from ideas to painting, from DTP to actually going in the printing house. I love the noise of the machines, the process of printing on paper and of course holding my new book in my own hands.

Over these 10 years I worked on 22 projects, 20 of those became books and I hope children and parents read them with love and appreciation.

I think I am a joyful person, serious and organized, but most of all I am sincere and fair. I think being this way helped me in my life and I like having a professional, but friendly collaboration with my clients.
