I'm an experienced freelance designer of book covers and interiors. I have worked in-house for Cornerstone, Egmont, Penguin, Hodder & Stoughton, Orion, Simon & Schuster, Watkins and Little Brown Book Group. I also work from home and have designed work for Granta, Penguin Press and Egmont.
I like to work with clients to end up with a design that they are happy with. After accepting a cover brief I would expect to have some discussion with the client about their ideas for the design. I would put together a number of different cover visuals, in the hope that one would be taken forward for further development. After the final cover visual is approved I would then put together the spine and back cover as print-ready artwork. I am happy to answer any questions you may have along the way.
