Overview
I’m a bestselling novelist with a background in clinical science. My debut psychological thriller sold internationally and was adapted for film. I work with writers who suspect their book should be working — but isn’t.
The problem is rarely prose. Almost always, it’s structure: the emotional logic beneath the plot. What’s missing is usually invisible to the writer but immediately felt by the reader — slack tension, unclear motivation, or a story that never quite locks into place. I specialise in diagnosing those underlying faults and helping authors reshape manuscripts so tension, character, and meaning finally align.
I’m drawn to complex projects — fractured timelines, unreliable narrators, moral ambiguity — — but also to deceptively “straightforward” thrillers where something fundamental is misfiring beneath the surface. Stories that on occasion may have been drafted, revised, and workshopped, yet still don’t quite cohere.
I work selectively and at depth. I don’t offer reassurance. I offer clarity. This is not surface feedback or motivational coaching, but rigorous structural analysis grounded in both craft and reader psychology. If that’s what you’re looking for, we may be a good fit.
