Overview

For the past 7 years I've been working as a freelance editor, primarily for young writers. I've worked on a variety of genres within the children's book industry, including non-fiction works, graphic novels, children's fantasy, children's mystery, and regular old fiction for kids. I specialize in short projects such as blogs, short stories and children's books, but I welcome longer works as well. Aside from editing, I also have experience as an elementary school teacher and I interact with children in book sales and library science. This gives me a good understanding of what kids are into these days and how to connect children with their next favorite read.
I've worked with numerous first-time authors, both in developmental editing all the way through final draft proofreading and marketing. With my experience in teaching, I have a patient outlook and am willing to work with authors to create a masterpiece that is both true to itself as well as organized and beautifully-written. My goal is to see excellent books being released to young people, and I can't wait to see your inclusive and genuine stories. I have boundless enthusiasm and reliable patience. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've written.
