Overview
Telling stories is the most important thing we do as humans. Let me help you make your story the best it can be!
I am an editor, consultant, and tea aficionado based in New York. I have experience on both the editorial and agency sides of publishing and I have ferried books from beginning ideas through to publication, so I am excited to jump into your project whether you’re just beginning the writing process or drafting your query letter. I help authors navigate the publishing world based on their individual goals as well as providing a keen and compassionate editorial eye.
My editorial style is collaborative and uplifting without pulling any punches. I want to be your closest reader and your biggest fan, with notes that range from “commence sobbing” to sharp editorial guidance (I might make you kill your darlings, but I’ll also let you know what’s working well). I can provide an overarching, big-picture assessment or dig deep into your manuscript and figure out how to push and polish it into its best form, while always being mindful of your intention and unique voice. I will work with you to determine an editing process that works best for your writing style and your project, but you can always expect open communication and supportive but honest feedback.
I specialize in speculative fiction, everything from epic adventures to space operas to near-future fiction. I love smart, funny stories, and the books I most connect with have well-developed, complex characters that capture my heart. Give me a queer found family, a well-meaning villain, or a delicious world to explore!
In nonfiction I tend toward nerdy pop culture, weird history, and crafting/diy books with an interesting approach. Specific areas of interest include RPGs, book arts, and technical theater, but I’d love to learn about something new!
When I don’t have my nose in a book I can be found running tech and painting sets for children’s theater, watching home improvement shows, running D&D campaigns, or winning trivia night.

My responsibilities at RYA included evaluating submissions, providing editorial guidance and author care, and composing letters, submission lists, book pitches, and flap copy. I was also developing new book ideas and finding new clients via conferences and online pitch events, and ferrying books all the way through the publishing process. Ask me about your query letter!
