Sara Adams – Editor

I am a fiction editor with nine years experience in the publishing industry in the UK. I have worked at Headline, Harvill Secker, Vintage and Hodder & Stoughton. Most recently, I was Editorial Director for Fiction at Hodder, commissioning a broad list of commercial fiction and overseeing the fiction list for Hodder Studio. I edit commercial and reading group fiction, including Crime & Thriller, Book Club and Women’s Fiction. My debut novel The Reading List was published in 2021 by HarperCollins, and was a finalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards for Fiction. My second novel is due to be published in 2023.I have worked with authors with a wide range of writing experience - writers who’ve written several novels, as well as writers who’ve never written a novel before - and I love helping storytellers find their voice in fiction. I have worked with and published incredible authors such as Ruth Ware, Abir Mukherjee, Amanda Block, Ajay Chowdhury, Sukh Ojla, Tomi Obaro, Wiz Wharton, Sarah Bonner and C.L.Pattison. I have also mentored writers across a range of genres, working with initiatives like Black Girl Writers and I Like Networking - and I’ve loved meeting talented authors at the beginning of their publishing experience. I’m passionate about demystifying the publishing process, to create a more inclusive industry.
