This position is a contract position as I hold a permanent position in a pharmaceutical company. Initially the book series of Advances in Protein Chemistry and Structural Biology comprised 4 volumes annually. Following the success of the series, the publisher, Elsevier, increased the number of volumes published annually to 5. My role as a Serial Editor of this book series is to propose to the editor topics for each thematic volume and to find contributors that are experts in the field. Upon receiving the contributions, it is my responsibility to carry out editorial assessment of the submitted manuscripts and propose amendments necessary for their improvement.
