Experienced nonfiction developmental editor, copyeditor, proofreader, and editorial project manager

Overview

I've worked on trade and academic titles, and have a deep understanding of the audience needs for many markets. I'm experienced with all phases of editorial work: developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, and project management. I've worked on technical and academic subjects, and memoirs. I strive to give the same care and attention to working with authors as I do to managing manuscript; bringing out the best qualities in either requires an ability to see and promote those qualities, and to do so with as much respect and as little ego as possible.

Mark Stephen Meadows

What is an avatar? Why are there nearly a billion of them, and who is using them? Do avatars impact our real lives, or are they just video game conceits? Is an avatar an inspired rendering of its creator’s inner self, or is it just one among millions of anonymous vehicles clogging the online freeways?
