Overview
I'm a developmental editor specializing in science and nature books for children. I have been editing children's STEM books and articles for more than fifteen years. My focus is anything with a nature, STEM, or environmental theme.
I hold a Ph.D. in cellular & molecular biology and worked as a research fellow of the American Cancer Society. I'm also a certified Master Gardener. I know the life sciences well.
I began my freelance writing career as an independent contractor writing and editing textbooks, workbooks, and online educational content for Glencoe/McGraw-Hill. I moved from textbooks into children's publishing and now help writers develop their books. I have worked on educational books and multiple award-winning trade (commercial) books.
If you work with me, I will provide clear editorial feedback to help you make your book the best that it can be while staying true to your unique voice and vision. My advice is tailored to help you meet your personal goals. I work with writers who are pursuing self-publishing and traditional publishing. I can help you turn your idea into a draft, teach you how to find an agent, show you how submission works, how to secure work-for-hire, and more.
