Overview

Hi writer!

I'm Rachel, a critically acclaimed author, writing coach, and editor.

I've always wanted to be a writer. Since I could use a keyboard and a pen, I've written stories. Then, when I was fourteen, I read The Lord of the Rings (Tolkien) and my mind was set. That was it - I wanted to make other people feel what I felt when I read that story: adventure, excitement, and an inexplicable feeling of 'home'.

Fast forward a few years, and I gained my BA, MA and PhD in Creative Writing. But even though I had studied writing to such an extensive degree and taught it at universities and to adults worldwide, I knew it would take more than this knowledge to be a coach. That's why I studied to become a Certified Professional Coach with an ICF-accredited company and also spent a year completing an ILM Level 2.

And now, I get to talk about writing all the time! When I'm not talking to other people and helping them with their writing lives, I'm focusing on my own.

I am currently writing my sixth novel. I mostly write fantasy (and love a witchy twist), but I've also dabbled in literary fiction. I've had poetry, short stories, articles, and a critically acclaimed debut novel published.

None of this happened overnight. It came down to three main things:

1: Dedication.

2: Perseverance.

3: Asking for help.

If you want to achieve your goal of being a writer, you are in the right place. I can help you go from page to print with my three fantastic packages that meet you where you are as a writer. Whether you are in 'The Beginning', 'The Middle', or at 'The End', my mix of coaching, tutoring, and editing will leave you with a draft to be proud of.

My favourite books to work on are fantasy, magical realism, literary fiction, thrillers, and women's fiction. Sorry, I don't work on horror, erotica, or non-fiction.
