"With Mandy Erickson as an editor I was able to successfully navigate the extraordinary process of writing a successful and well-received book. I was a first-time author, and her expertise was vital in helping me deliver my thoughts and ideas with clarity and insight. Once published, my book reached international best-selling status in its genre and became required reading at Rutgers University among others. As an author I can only claim this level of success by having had Mandy Erickson on my team."

Work experience
Self-employed
I have edited books, newsletters, magazines, brochures, and website copy. My clients include "Foreign Affairs" magazine, Stanford University, the American Hospital Association, nonprofits, health care communications agencies, and individual authors.
I have written for the National Catholic Reporter, and for Stanford and UC Berkeley alumni magazines; for eight years I wrote restaurant reviews for the "San Francisco Chronicle." I have also written three books: "The Frequent Fiber Cookbook," "Start Your Own Coin-Operated Laundry," and "Start Your Own Executive Recruiting Service."
Wired magazine
I oversaw the copy desk for the magazine and ensured the magazine went to print on time. I also edited most of the monthly magazine.
Alameda Newspaper Group
I covered schools, police, and city council for the Tri-Valley Herald, then switched to the copy desk, where I edited business and general news for several newspapers, including the Oakland Tribune.
