I'm primarily a developmental editor, specializing in science fiction, fantasy fiction, and women's fiction. I also provide copyediting, sensitivity reads, and query letter evaluation services.

In Fantasy fiction, I'm looking for stories with intricate worldbuilding and complex magic systems. If you need an editor to help you keep those thread straight, you've found one! I would work with you to help you figure out what works and how to get it across to the reader.

In sci-fi, I'm the opposite. I like futuristic worlds, and I'd help you figure out how to keep humanity grounded in a new setting. I like the idea that things may change, but human beings remain the same. Think Star Trek as opposed to the Expanse.

For Women's fiction, I love romantic stories with a heavy dose of comedy. The more culturally diverse the better! I want to see perspective and dynamics we haven't seen before, and narratives that turn tropes on their heads.

As an editor, I'm highly communicative. I would set up regular check-ins, and send you books and passages and craft exercises that will help you hone your craft. Editing is all about trust, and I would take the time to understand what you want your story to be before I offer any input.
