Overview

Are you an author looking for a non-fiction editorial expert to support and guide you in the development, polishing and finalisation of your manuscript and/or product drafts?

If so…….

I can definitely help by taking any or all of the content creation or editorial tasks (project scoping, editorial assessment, development editing, copyediting, technical review) and guide and support you through the editorial process.

I’m a content and publishing professional with over 18 years of experience (11 years in-house and just over 7 years as a freelance consultant) in non-fiction publishing. During my time in-house I was lucky enough to be part of the Royal Society journals team, I then went on to be Commissioning Editor for a membership organisation who published a range of professional books, journals and digital products. After this I managed an editorial team as Publishing Manager and then Publisher at City & Guilds where I led the product design and oversaw the development of a portfolio of education and assessment products to support the vocational education and professional learning and exams market. Finally, before making the move to set up my own editorial services agency, I took a similar role for Cambridge University Press where I managed a team of Commissioning Editors to scope, design and develop resources for the International Education Market, as well as managing a series of academic books and resources targeting an academic audience.

Since setting up my own content agency, I have taken on a wide range of freelance assignments – commissioning, market research, strategy consultancy, website and community management, development editing, content writing, and project management for a wide range of clients including but not limited to Pearson Education, Cengage Learning, Cambridge University Press, The International Baccalaureate, Axelos, Sage Publishing, Hodder, Emerald Publishing, City & Guilds, McGraw Hill, City & Guilds Kineo, the BSI.

I am passionate about my work and am good at it. I bring experience, professionalism, commitment, flexibility and creativity to all my assignments and it is always my objective to make my client’s life easier and less stressful.

The world is pretty crazy right now and there’s more demand for ever for content in all formats. I can help you get your products done and out to market so you can start seeing them work for you.

I’m pretty sure I could help so why not drop me a message and we can go from there.

I can't wait to meet you!

Louise is a fantastic development editor. She has been supportive and encouraging throughout the whole process; she is meticulous and used her vast professional experience to improve and polish my book. As a result, it will be published by a highly respected publisher. I cannot praise Louise as a collaborator enough and thoroughly recommend her.
