Louise Buckley

Louise Buckley – Editor

Friendly and experienced editor and former Literary Agent, with extensive experience editing most adult genres of fiction.

Overview

I'm an Editorial Consultant and former Literary Agent, with extensive editorial experience working for two large trade publishers, and with the public.

As an agent I represented a roster of authors writing literary and commercial fiction, including critical and commercial bestsellers. As an in-house editor, I edited books across all fiction genres including upmarket book club fiction, women's fiction, crime and thrillers, historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction and horror.

Having worked with authors for well over a decade, at every stage of the writing process, I understand that writing a book is a daunting process - and seeking feedback on your book can be even more so!

But I also understand how invaluable good constructive feedback can be. It can make the difference between submitting or publishing a good book, and submitting or publishing an excellent one.

I can provide the type of honest, yet motivating feedback that you are looking for.

I love working with authors to help make their book as good as it can be and I'd love to hear from you!

Louise gave me some extremely useful notes and edits on my submission pack. She was completely honest about what might be holding me back (which was exactly what I needed to hear) and gave practical advice. All her notes were clear and useful. I had quite a few questions following on from our collaboration and she took the time to give me very thoughtful and thorough answers.

Louise was incredibly helpful in her review of my submission package. Her comments were extensive and have set me up to really improve my work, by pointing out the specifics of what I need to work on that beta readers have been unable to put their finger on. Louise was very prompt and absolutely worth the cost of the collaboration. I highly suggest working with her!
