Libris Simas Ferraz – Designer

I’m a book designer and typesetter with over ten years’ experience in the book publishing industry. My pronouns are he/him. I have a Master of Publishing and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts, and my returning clients include Harbour Publishing, Douglas & McIntyre and Caitlin Press.

I specialize in long-form text, such as fiction, memoirs, and history. I also have significant experience in designing poetry, field guides, and a host of other exciting books. I am particularly keen to work on books that touch on progressive politics and systemic change, queer and racialized voices, and science communication.

I have carefully honed my efficiency using plugins and custom scripts that help me offer quick turnarounds without compromising on quality. That said, please allow for a realistic timeline. My schedule is usually filled more than one month in advance, so if you have a tight deadline, I may not be able to meet it.

I'm open to working on most genres, but I will not work on: most types of self-help; any projects developed with the help of AI; and ebook preparation when the text was laid out by another designer.
