Katharine Smith - Editor

My career as a writer/editor started at an online magazine company where I worked on topics such as cooking, recipes, and parenting. After my stint at that company, I moved on to intern at a children's book publisher, Kidsbooks. While at Kidsbooks, I provided feedback to prospective authors looking to pitch to the company, as well as worked as a writer and editor on several of their titles.

Once my time at Kidsbooks was over, I moved on to my current company where I edit Career and Technical Education textbooks. Throughout my time at Goodheart-Willcox, I have worked on a variety of topics, including computers, business, interior design, teaching, interpersonal skills, and fashion. I provide guidance to our author/content experts in how to make their products engaging to their future audience, while fact checking and indexing.

I'm a nerd for all topics and love to learn and expand my knowledge base. I have experience working with both new and veteran authors, so all are welcome. I promise to make working with me as painless as possible, while providing a detailed editing experience.
