Karrin Varucene Sehmbi – Editor

Editorial professional for 12+ years, specializing in educational content and personal nonfiction. You write. I polish. You shine.

Overview

I’m an experienced editorial professional offering development editing, copy editing, and proofreading services, and specializing in educational and nonfiction content. I planted my editorial roots in higher education book publishing in New York City in 2009. Over five years, I rapidly progressed from Editorial Assistant to Associate Editor to Development Editor at Bedford/St. Martin’s (now Macmillan Education), an imprint of Macmillan Publishers.

I moved into freelance editing while relocating to the West Coast and continued growing my editorial experience through work on higher education materials, and nonfiction manuscripts that included a memoir and an educational healthcare pamphlet.

I then worked a few years in an editorial role at a digital marketing agency—adding knowledge of B2B tech, thought leadership content development, social media marketing, and SEO to my editorial expertise.

Most recently, I served as Copy and Production Editor at a leading website for radiology professionals, building my skills in editing medical content.
