Kaitlyn Katsoupis

Kaitlyn Katsoupis – Editor

Literary Agent offering manuscript critiques, developmental edits, and submission polishing for fiction novels readying for publication

Overview

I am a freelance editor and literary agent with seven years of experience in the book publishing industry. With a degree from Emerson College in Writing, Literature, & Publishing, I have extensive knowledge in the tools needed for polishing and readying a fiction novel for either submission to an agent/editor, or for readying it to be released in the self-publishing world.

I offer editorial services that focus on feedback/guidance for full manuscripts as well as getting your first pages and supplemental info sparkling before you send them off to an agent. My focus is to provide a Compliment Sandwich critique technique: highlight your strengths and hooks, but also provide guidance and suggestions for areas that need revision or fine-tuning. Often, my turnaround time for full manuscripts in 2-4 weeks, depending on word count and level of edit needed.

Kaitlyn helped me make the decision between going with traditional publishing vs. self-publishing for my series of fantasy novels. She provided insightful feedback from a literary agent's perspective, and highlighted both the strengths and the weaknesses of the writing sample I provided (the first 24k words of the first book), She also worked on revising the query and the synopsis of the book. ...

Kaitlyn has bee a delight to work with. She is very professional, with a considerable insight into the publishing industry and what will catch an agent's attention. She did a great job of my query letter and synopsis review, helping to make both of them short and snappier. She was also available to answer lots of my questions, some of which were vital to my querying process and the shape of th...
