Julie Brooke

Julie Brooke – Editor

I’m an editor with over 25 years' experience. I specialise in crafts and cookery, but have edited books about antiques and more too.

Overview

Whether a book is about macramé or knitting, baking or mocktails, is based on a blog or a hobby, I love working with authors to turn their ideas and passions into print-ready pages.

Over the past 25 years I have worked on a wide range of books, the majority of them focused on crafts, cookery and antiques. From craft books for kids (Fiesty Felties by Missy Covington), to the English-language edition book of recipes by one of Germany’s top chefs (My Way by Tim Raue) to the annual Miller’s Antiques Price Guide, I have worked on projects of all sizes and with first-time and experienced authors.

The variety of authors, subjects and publications I work on mean I am uniquely placed to help you with your book. Whatever the topic, I’ll help you to refine your message by making sure the structure is clear and logical and the text is written in a clear and consistent way – especially if you’re explaining craft and cookery techniques.

I work for publishers in the US and UK and am used to tailoring content and language to one or both markets.
