Jen Williams-Rapa

Jen Williams-Rapa – Editor

Copyeditor, proofreader, and development editor with over 11 years experience in freelance and traditional publishing houses.

Overview

I've been a proofreader and copyeditor for cookbooks, self-help titles, fiction, technical handbooks, ELT and ESL books, journals, and more in the Boston publishing scene for over 11 years. I got my start as an editorial assistant at John Wiley & Sons (back when it was just Blackwell Publishing in Malden, MA) and quickly moved to a position there as a production editor for their catalog of scientific journals. I can provide as much or as little development work as you wish, or just focus on grammar and style—you tell me! I love genre fiction and tech manuals alike.

As a freelance editor I love having the freedom to choose new and exciting projects and help writers perfect their craft. Whether it's fact-checking the nitty-gritty details, honing grammar and style to bring out your unique voice, or just giving your manuscript one final proofread for errors, I'm here for you! In the meantime, I'll be sitting next to my cat and knitting up a new shawl or two.
