Jamie Evans – Editor

As both an editor and writer, I understand how it feels to be on the receiving end of feedback. That's why I offer a friendly approach to editing, both to help you shape up your writing, and also to help you learn.

I was previously the in-house editor at The Knight Agency, where I worked on adult romance, and I am now the associate managing editor at Peachtree Publishing and Holiday House, working on children's and YA titles.

I offer:

Editorial assessments: Great for your early draft if you're not sure what your story needs.

Developmental editing: A more in-depth look at the big picture, such as character development, plot, pacing, and more.

Copyediting: The next step for manuscripts that have already gone through big-picture edits, beta readers, etc., and are ready to be cleaned up at the sentence level.

I am an agented writer of kidlit and hold an MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. I also have a certificate from the Columbia Publishing Course and a BA in creative writing from Emory University. I'd love to help you shape your story!
