Eliza Kirby

Eliza Kirby – Editor

I'm a detail-oriented editor, specializing in children's nonfiction, with 10 years of experience at publishing houses and literary agencies

Overview

As a children's editor with experience taking projects from concept to publication, I have a keen understanding of the market for young readers and what makes a successful book for kids. The past five years of my career have been exclusively focused on children's nonfiction, although I still have a soft spot for YA fiction.

I am a collaborative editor who values open communication—if you disagree with or don't understand something in my edits, I want to hear about it! Editing is a process, and there's not always one right answer to a problem; I love talking through your work until we come to the best solution for you. I've worked with authors with all levels of experience, including many people who are subject matter experts but had never written a book before. Whether you need help fleshing out an initial idea or doing a final polish before you submit or self-publish your manuscript, I would love to work with you to bring your book to the next level.

Eliza agreed on a second reading (since we had translation issues ) but never done it. Since she doesn't respond to messages, it seems that she is not available anymore on this platform :(

Eliza is insightful, professional and prompt. I genuinely felt like I had an easier time writing my 100,000 word novel than I did penning a 350 word query - for whatever reason, nailing that short and to the point letter was proving impossible for me. Having Eliza provide one last editorial revie...
