Overview
I am a writer, editor and proofreader. I help academics, creatives and entrepreneurs refine and polish their written English until it’s precise, vivid and compelling.
I specialise in mysteries and non-fiction works in the humanities and social sciences. I regularly edit and proofread books in English for a number of Swiss publishing houses, including Kommode Press, Bergli Books and NZZ Libro. I have also edited books and/or chapters of books published by Transcript Verlag, Zytglogge Verlag and Springer. I regularly edit news articles, departmental communications, and reports for the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics at ETH Zurich.
I was born in California and grew up in Bern, Switzerland, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. I have lived in Switzerland for the last 25 years, and became a Swiss citizen in 2013. I hold B.A. and M.A.R. degrees from Yale University, and teaching qualifications in math and physics.
I am the author of a number of books myself, including Alles ist beseelt (Kommode Press, 2021), Hexeneinmaleins (Kommode Press, 2019), Error and Loss: A License to Enchantment (Kommode Press, 2018), and “O Switzerland!” (Bergli Books, 2018). My chapter “Paul Geheeb and Nazi Germany: Progressive Education in the Age of Fascism” was included in Historians on Leadership and Strategy: Case Studies From Antiquity to Modernity, edited by Martin Gutmann (Springer, 2020). I have also been published extensively in Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine.
