Andrew Bell – Designer

I'm dedicated to crafting timeless books that endure. Allow me to breathe life into yours.

Overview

My name’s Andrew, an enthusiastic Graphic Designer based in Scotland. I’m passionate about design, typography and everything visual. I strive to make creative, effective and value-adding designs that help define and tell stories in a way that’s authentic, engaging and unique.

Over the last ten years, I've been creating books, brand identities, posters and advertising campaigns for a wide range of clients. Having worked specifically within the publishing sector for five of those years, I've amassed a wealth of experience learning from Industry leaders and have been lucky enough to work on projects for a number of well-known authors.

I have a meticulous eye for detail, technical ability and a creative mind that loves kerning as much as the concept.

My process:

It all starts with a conversation, I like to find out all about you and your aspirations for the project.
From there I'll form a creative brief that we can both refer back to.
Once that’s agreed I’ll get to know what visual styles you like and dislike. With that in mind, I’ll create three mood boards, visualizing distinct, individual directions that we can take your design in.
When we have decided on which creative direction, I’ll produce a first draft which you’ll get to feedback on.
Using this feedback, I’ll go on to refine the design and create a final, print-ready piece of artwork.

Nobody likes nasty surprises, that’s why I like my clients to be involved with each stage of the process, feeding back and helping me to craft their vision. I believe communication is key to a successful design.

Drop me a line and see how I can make your book a reality.

Collaborating with Andrew was an exceptional experience. He was very attuned to my personal vision and put in the time and effort to see to it that communications were open and understood in both directions. He is a wonderful, creative mind to build your vision with and has shown that he possesses a lot of insight as well as the ability to meet you where you're at. I would highly recommend.

Andrew was exceptional. I am an amateur writer publishing my first manuscript and Andrew has been priceless. He has provided guidance and creativity to help my vision come to life. He also utilized a portrait I wanted for my cover and turned it into a magnificent artwork with subtle modifications. His knowledge and experience have also helped with my text formatting. Andrew has placed the final...
