Amy McHugh – Designer

I am an experienced graphic designer and have been in the publishing industry for over a decade. I specialise in children's books - picture books, activity books, novelty books as well as packaging and components.

Franchises I have worked on include Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, My Little Pony, PAW Patrol, Barbie and more.

I started my career at working as an in-house designer at North Parade Publishing Ltd and Parragon Books Ltd. Since then I have worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer for publishing houses big and small, including Hachette, Penguin, Bonnier Books, Centum, Little Brother Books, Raspberry Books, Townhouse, Kennedy Publishing, Hinkler.

I also work on branding - logo design, style guide and brand development, drawing from my experience working with many licensors and brands over the years.

Closest to my heart are themes of mental health, emotions, community, nature and the connections between them all. I love to offer a new narrative, amplify quiet voices and reconnect with a sense of play and wonder.
