Overview
Hi! I'm Alex, and I am a digital illustrator and cartoonist who specializes in stylized work that is fun, colourful, and expressive with a sense of humour.
I started drawing and painting digitally in 2004, and have been a full-time artist since 2018. I also have a background in film and radio--BA in filmmaking from the University of Winnipeg, on-set experience, and 5 years on- and off-air with top radio stations--which has been very helpful in my work regarding decisions around visual storytelling, hitting beats, and fitting as much story/personality as possible into a single image or a short timeframe.
I try to be a relatively easy-going, transparent, and hard-working link in the chain, and have been lucky to accumulate lots of experience working with clients in all sorts of industries over the years. I particularly love drawing nature, animals, and food, as well as trying to capture specific feelings through shape and colour, which I believe reflects in my work.
