Kirkus Reviews - Maya & Waggers A hilarious tale about canine care and political differences. Following Kosmos’ Blaze Union and the Puddin’ Head Schools (2023), this series opener starring Maya deftly captures the childhood spirit that comes with owning a dog. It does a remarkable job of teaching responsibility in an amusing way. The tale also smoothly integrates canine care, an engaging narrative, and political differences, with humor the common thread. Featuring compact illustrations by Mullins, the work manages to celebrate diversity without being didactic. Although some readers may want more details about Maya’s stay with Uncle Kal, the story ends with a funny, smart surprise, allowing the audience to imagine what will happen next. https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/wt-kosmos/maya-and-waggers/

Maya & Waggers Booklife / Publishers Weekly Review! Kosmos’s humorous story for middle-grade readers follows a girl named Maya as she overcomes her fears and learns to care for her new puppy... The exaggerated strife between the Puddin’ Heads and Sweeties will help kids notice the absurdity of many real-world conflicts, as well as what they have in common with people who have different beliefs. https://booklife.com/project/maya-and-waggers-i-have-to-scoop-what-89338

Literary Titan Editorial Review of Blaze Union & the Puddin' Head Schools! https://literarytitan.com/ W.T. Kosmos’s “Blaze Union and the Puddin’ Head Schools” is a wittily crafted, real-life-inspired narrative that adeptly intertwines humor and social critique. Told from the perspective of a dedicated former teacher, the story embraces the value of an education rooted in truth and the audacity to question the status quo. The protagonist, the spirited fourteen-year-old Blaze Union, is an embodiment of fearless resistance. Unwilling to conform to the senseless rules of her school, she dares to contest authority with remarkable valor. Her bravery extends so far that she even attempts to persuade the Prime Minister of Puddin’ Head Island himself to appoint her as the Puddin’ Head Education Minister. W.T. Kosmos’s novel provides a stirring commentary on the current state of education in America, particularly the inexplicable trend of banning books. It is a creative, compelling indictment of these absurd practices and a testament to the author’s sharp understanding of the landscape. “Blaze Union and the Puddin’ Head Schools” is a powerful satirical piece primarily aimed at a teenage audience. However, its message transcends age brackets. The author’s underlying theme could resonate more deeply if adults were also considered a primary audience, given the potential implications of their perspective on education. This book stands out as a unique and imaginative work of satire, a genre where such originality is uncommon. Kosmos’s evident cleverness permeates the narrative, making it a compelling read. For those intrigued by contemporary American satire, this book serves as an outstanding resource. It invites readers into a world where ludicrous norms are questioned and intellectual bravery is celebrated.

Congrats! Blaze Union & the Puddin' Head Schools In this political satire that is “a wild Swiftian piece of imagination, as funny as it is urgent” (Self-Publishing Review) and “a unique and imaginative work of satire… that provides a stirring commentary on the current state of education in America” (Literary Titan), a teacher develops absurdity neurosis from a book banning rampage and follows his shrink’s advice to find schools more absurd than his own. He discovers 14-year-old Blaze Union, a phenomenal football (soccer) and guitar player dealing with her own absurdities. Although Sweeties attacked her Puddin’ Head school with a cookie bomb, Blaze is expelled from school for playing her guitar and resisting large hand rules. Seeing no other choice, Blaze attempts to convince the “supreme” prime minister to make her the education minister (boss) of all Puddin’ Head schools by risking a vengeful Noble Deed, which may just work. Then again, Kai of the Sweeties might stop Blaze before she has the chance.  https://www.amazon.com/Blaze-Union-Puddin-Head-Schools/dp/B0C48XBXXR
