I'm working on separate POD versions of the seven stories in 'The Adventures of Bearwolf' to see what they feel like as a shorter book with just one story, hopefully finding a very interesting price point as well. Which cover do you prefer?

Since Amazon advantage sign up is paused, getting pre-orders on Amazon in order to compete with established publishers has been difficult. I did it through Ingram spark, and once the orders started coming in, the new book is heading up the Hot new releases chart. But that's all through my own list and network. And I'm giving a huge cut of the revenue to Amazon and Ingram for the privilege. Next problem with that is you can't get reviews on the book if it isn't on sale yet, so as an indie author, with no stars next to your book, makes it very difficult to sell to people who don't know you... However, I've now worked out how to get reviews on it (as the established authors around me in the charts do). Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to know how - this photo is a clue... the new amazon version of the book, which arrived today.

Beautiful illustrations, real depth of texture. Wistful words and a subject that both feels familiar and strange at the same time. Winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal. Very interesting if you're into picture books with poetry. Highly recommended.

I am a writer from the UK. My new book "The Adventures of Bearwolf" is a collection of 7 bedtime stories for children influenced by Lewis Carroll and Roald Dahl, and told in rhymes that are great fun for adults and older siblings to perform to the younger ones. For ages 5-10 and playful parents.
