12 months agoThank you, Meaghan! Your review of "Fanning Fireflies" was very thorough and well written...as always. Also, you touched on an important topic, and one that I struggled with. The original version of this book had much more vivid hate language. It felt right, because it was an accurate representation of the times and, even now, that language is still used. However, I got feedback from others that such language might turn people away from the book. So, I thought that I would rather tone down the language, and mention that in the beginning of the book, so that people wouldn't be dissuaded from reading it. I deeply feel that we may need to be reminded of these issues, in our current climate. But it was a decision that was a hard one for me. I'm glad you noticed, though and, by doing so, give me the chance to discuss it a bit here. :)
