DELIGHTED at the first reviews for my new novel IT NEVER RAINS.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGLRJLVZ BARRY (Goodreads): As I've come to expect from this author, he grips you at the start and takes you through the complex twists and turns that only VAR could unravel. I finished reading this book quickly, as I was compelled to find out whodunnit! Another winner. DANI (Amazon UK) : A child’s life hands in the balance. A footballer’s stepson has been kidnapped and detectives battle to trace him. DS Sunita Roy uses her top sleuthing skills to find him and track down the leader of the kidnap gang. This novel, set in and around Worcester, has a surprise ending and is great for lovers of crime fiction. SAMANTHA (Amazon UK): IT NEVER RAINS is a gripping read from the very first page. A gang of men break into a footballer’s mansion while he’s at a match. His stepson is kidnapped and a bodyguard murdered. DS Sunita Roy battles against lots of obstacles, including an interfering inspector, to find the boy. A big surprise at the end. Highly recommended. DEBBIE B (NetGalley): Great book! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a great who done it and a few crazy twists and turns. Everything is not what it seems!! I definitely recommend reading this book! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGLRJLVZ

I’ve just had some exciting news. The first three novels in my British crime series – including this one, Murder On Oxford Lane – are now available as a Kindle boxset.     All three books in the collection concern police investigations in the Midlands area of Britain, close to England’s second largest city of Birmingham.     And all three follow the exploits of Gavin Roscoe, a harassed detective chief inspector and family man, and his sergeant, law graduate and skilful problem solver Sunita Roy.      The other two titles in the colllection are The Crossbow Stalker and Murder Of A Doctor.     The Midlands Murders boxset is out now on Amazon.   https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3JW4NX1/

A host of book reviewers have been kind enough to make positive comments on HEIR TO MURDER (the fifth book in the Detectives Roy & Roscoe series). They have mostly been four and five-star reviews. Here is the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CPFNJNQJ AMANDA OUGHTON (Ginger Book Geek): I made the fatal mistake of starting to read ‘Heir To Murder’ shortly before I went to bed. Let’s just say that bedtime was delayed somewhat and that I had a distinct ‘lack of sleep’ hangover the following day but it was so worth it!! Reading ‘Heir To Murder’ seemed to become an obsession in the sense that if I wasn’t reading the book, I was thinking about it and if I had to put the book down for any length of time then I would immediately look forward to being able to pick it up again. It was almost as if the book had developed a hold over me and it was a hold that I wasn’t willing to break. My copy of the book wasn’t exactly glued to my hand but it might as well have been because it travelled everywhere with me. I couldn’t bear to miss a single second of the story.  WHATREBECCASREAD: This is a well written novel with so much detail provided so the reader is easily immersed into the story . . . The plot is well paced, with highs and lows throughout, making this a quick, yet really enjoyable read. LOOPYLOULAURA: I think this series goes from strength to strength. The writing style is easy to read and the detective characters are easy to like . . .  I had no idea which way the plot was heading or who was responsible for the crimes.  ROGUE BOOK REVIEWS:  I enjoyed every page. I wanted to keep reading as the twists and turns kept me engaged. MADELEINE: A clever and knotty case with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader hooked. FELICITY: A character I really enjoyed in the previous book . . . DS Sunita Roy did not disappoint. Her skillset really came to the fore. A well-paced read." PAULA LEARMOUTH (Mamofg9 blogspot): If you like police procedurals that keep you guessing you'll love this book! … an easy read that keeps you reading to the end. DEE (justonemorechapterbkblog): a captivating crime fiction story that gripped me from the start . . . a great whodunnit filled with intrigue and suspense that will keep you on your toes. ALYSON’S REVIEWS: A well told police procedural in an enjoyable series with a set of varied and very likeable detectives . . . a great twisty tale with an exciting ending SEE SUSIE HELME'S REVIEW ON REEDSY DISCOVERY: https://reedsy.com/discovery/book/heir-to-murder-english-detective-fiction-at-its-best-detectives-roy-and-roscoe-crime-fiction-series-tony-bassett/user-reviews
