Hellooo Voracious Readers, currently listening to Stephen Fry's Mythos on audible. So far I really like it, but I'm a sucker for Stephen Fry's quirky, dry humour and the book is so interesting.

Hello Voracious Readers, Here's my new audible review. I think my expectations for this one were too high. I saw the movie first, and thought it was okay, which urged me to listen to the book because I thought I would have appreciated the subtleties that the movie did not deliver. In a way that was true, the film is a far cry from what the book was trying to explain in terms of political, economical, and social protection during pandemic crises. It's much more political than we can imagine, but I think I would have preferred an actual story with a beginning, middle and an end rather than testimonials and first person accounts. It's rather dry. I'm glad I listened to it. The different voices and actors gives it a real sense of authenticity.

Hello Voracious Readers! Hope this finds you well. I've been listening to Andrew Morton's unauthorized biography of Angelina Jolie. It's really good. I've always admired her, even in her "gothic phase."

I'm convinced the author took many years to develop this tale of gargantuan proportions. If not then he's a genius. The rich details that went into creating so many colourful characters, and storylines that all connect is awesome. I loooove mixing history with with lore and add to that a captivating mystery of pirate proportions you have a great story. The first fifty pages it's a bit confusing with all the names, but everything quickly falls into place and it's easy to follow. It's plot driven so a real page turner. There were a few typo's, nothing major. Amazing book! I highly recommend if you enjoy rich lore combined with page turning mystery.  Amazing book! I highly recommend if you enjoy rich lore combined with page turning mystery. It's like Da Vinci Code mixed with Dune. Historical Scifi!

Hello voracious readers, I hope this finds you well. Gearing up for tonights final episode of The Mandolorian. Sigh! What will I watch now... It's soo good. If you're like me, and looking for something to fill the void, might I suggest Star Trek Discovery, or if you're looking for something in the reading department I've read a few gems lately. Check out my reader recommendations. Note that many of these I listened to on audible and they're really good, otherwise if you're in the mood for a dystopian\scifi novel for X-mas, then might I shamefully plug my little book. "She Runs With Wolves?" It's been getting great reviews, and I would love to hear your thoughts. Take care and Read on!!

Military style novels are tough because of the level of realism required and all the technical lingo. Heists are difficult to pull off because they usually involve many characters, and sometimes complex descriptions and executions, but this author has a true talent. The plot is tight, the pacing is perfect, each character has its own voice, and there quite a few, but there's no confusion. You know who is who, and it isn't overly descriptive. Just enough to situate you, to understand what needs to happen, and keep you reading for more. It's a page turner. Crooked military special black ops, the heist of an ancient biblical artifact with an added layer of intrigue thrown into the mix with an ISSI fidèle. What's not to love? The book is very well written, despite the occasional mistake, which didn't bother me because the story was so captivating. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Hi guys, Recently published a collection of short stories on Amazon and Kobo. Nook is taken their sweet time. It's a bit of a prelude to my novel She Runs With Wolves. Take a look. It's a short Scifi read, and it's free. https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Coup-Uprising-collection-stories-ebook/dp/B08P53RYYB/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=digital+coup&qid=1607442787&s=books&sr=1-1 Welcome to the Digital Age. A lustrous world awaits you. Robotech, biotech, and AI are standing by to facilitate your life. A promise for a better tomorrow has never been more attractive. Or is it? Underneath, the seductive techno centric future are cankerous societal problems that threaten the existence of the human species. Kimberly T. Hennessy imagines a not-so-distant future in her collection of short stories. A soft prequel to the ruined tribal society in her debut novel “She Runs With Wolves.” We follow three women struggling to keep up with the changing times. Cassidy, an ambitious junior space-architect eager to show her mettle, puts her life at risk to climb the ranks in her firm, but her AI companion has other plans.  Mackenzie, a young teenager, embittered by her mother’s decision to uproot the family and move to Mars, learns the genuine reasons behind her mother’s selfish motivations.  Mary Marshall, aka Siren, the unassuming socialite defies society’s plan for her, and bites off more than she can hack when a job goes wrong and puts her life in jeopardy. All three stories weave together as we flash forward and witness the early breakdown of society and the emergence of a new species.

This was an obscure find on Amazon, but well worth my time. I love diving into military court room drama, and if it's well made you can learn so much.

Listened to this on audible, and it took me some time to get used to all the different narrated voices. Initially, it felt cartoonish to me, but once I got wrapped up in the story, then I was hooked.

The book was not bad, but I watched the Netflix series first and although it doesn't happen often the series was actually better than the book. I found the book episodic. I felt like Geralt faced a series of unrelated problems. It's worth reading just to compare with the series.

What an amazing read. I actually listened to it on Audible and the narrator's honeydew voice made all the difference. I really felt like I was listening to a God reading me a Greek poem. Modern day Homer. I highly recommend.

This past summer I read this, actually I didn't read it I listened to it on Audible and it was incredible. Anybody else a fan of Dune? Can't wait for the movie to come out, especially since Denis Villeneuve is my favourite director.
