Here is what you will receive in this book to help build a strong foundation in your yoga practice:

* Names of poses listed in Sanskrit and English
* Bullet point knowledge on alignment cues and variations
* Benefits of the poses
* Beautiful pictures showing different variations of poses
* Section with pictures of advanced poses

This handbook will be appreciated by beginner/intermediate practitioners of yoga who don't want to wade through pages and pages of unnecessary verbiage. Right off the bat, you are introduced to the first few poses in yoga - and you're off to the races. I loved this no nonsense approach!

The photography in this handbook was stellar. Each photo showed you exactly where the crucial body parts should be positioned, and how. The brief, bullet form instructions were brief but precise. I wondered at one point if absolute beginners might have a few more questions to ask regarding the more complex poses if they've never taken a yoga class before, but I suspect they might still make great use of this handbook. I've taken many yoga classes and even I had new thing to learn here and there.

The last portion of the book shows you advanced poses, without explanations - rightly so, because those require more instruction than could be provided in this handbook format. I suspect those photos were included to encourage the reader to aspire to those poses one day in the future.

In summary, I was extremely impressed with the brilliant photography, concise instructions, and the clean overall look of this handbook. Highly recommended!

My thanks to the author, publisher and Reedsy Discovery for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dawn Aragón, PhD5.0 out of 5 stars  FINALLY - a yoga book that is both lovely and USEFUL!!! I love that they used both Sanskrit & English for the poses - designed for students and teachers alike. The layout is clear and consistent. You can use it for a 30 to 90 minute flow, or, pick and choose your pose to work on! They even offer a FREE companion video with the book. AMAZING!
